| Marilyn J. Wendland, 83, of Rock Island, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church or to Pathway Hospice. Marilyn Wright was born on October 11, 1927 in Rock Island, the daughter of Earl and Edythe Anderson Wright. She married Paul L. “Lefty” Wendland on August 10, 1952 in Rock Island. He died December 3, 2004. She was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church and longtime member of the Rock Island/Milan Booster Club. In early years, she was a member of the Junior Women’s Club of Rock Island. Marilyn loved Rock Island High School Sports and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Survivors include her children (and spouses), Cynthia King, Beaverton, Or., Geri (Dick) Mosenfelder, Rock Island, Jody (Jack) Leiby, Rock Island, Mike Wendland, Rock Island, Jeff (Jennifer) Wendland, Rock Island and Kelley (Glen) Fisher, Sun City, Az.; 20 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lefty; granddaughter, Jennifer Leiby; and brothers, Raymond Connelly, Leslie Wright and William Wright. | |
