| Donald L. Manary died on February 25, 2011. Donald, 74 of Andalusia, died from complications of COPD. As per his wishes he was cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at later date. Donald was born on November 29, 1936 in Moline. He was the oldest son of Marvyn and Kathryn Rettig Manary. He married Elaine Seegler in Milan on April 6, 1957. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1954. He worked for 27 years at the former Illinois Wholesale Grocery, Rock Island; 21 years as Village Clerk of Andalusia; 17 years part-time at the former Spector Liquor, Rock Island. He was secretary of the Andalusia Lions Club and was the last president of the Andalusia Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his son and daughter Todd and Veronica Manary, Aurora, CO; grandson Joshua Manary, Mesa, AZ; granddaughters Kirsten Manary, Glendale, AZ; Amanda Romero, Knoxville, TN; Amie Romero, Denver, CO; great grandson Tyler Manary, Mesa, AZ; step-mother Lois Darlene Manary, Rock Island; sisters Shirley Woekener, Cuba, MO and Marva Hoteling, Rock Island. He is also survived by double cousins Janet Ortiz and Ann Mulvey both of Milan; several nieces and nephews and special friends Wanda Thomas, Rock Island and Curt Morrow, Andalusia. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold, Darold and Clifford Manary; nephew Douglas Manary. | |
