| Donald Bainter, 63, of Milan, died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his home. Services will be held at 10 am Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Kewanee, where military rites will be conducted. Memorials may be left to the Andalusia Baptist Church or with the Milan American Legion Post #569. Donald was born January 5, 1948 in Peoria, IL, the son of Raymond and Virginia Millard Bainter. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Don loved to travel on his Harley, and was a member of the Harley Owner’s Group. He also enjoyed boating, camping, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include life companion, Jennifer Coffman, Milan; children, Tammy Bainter, Tulsa, OK, Mike (Tresa) Bainter, Davenport, IA, Raymond Bainter, Waco, TX, Angela Bainter, Milan, IL, and James Bainter, Moline, IL; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly (Rick) Lamphear, Sheldon, WA, and Sue (Russell) McCannon, Milan, IL; sisters-in-law, Pat Fifer, Toulon, IL, and Verna Fifer, Eugene, OR; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Kris Barrett, Milan, IL. Don was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 1 granddaughter. | |

I'm sorry to hear about Donald's passing. We were close buddies & neighbors back in the 1950s in Rock Island. I have many great memories of our families from those days, including Bev teaching me to ride a bicycle & your dad building the Yellow Jacket. I wish all of Donald's family well at this difficult moment.
