A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00a.m., Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2-5p.m., Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank Fund at the University of Iowa Foundation.

Frances was born on June 30, 1912 in Oneco, IL., the daughter of John and Gladys (Curtis) Schrack. She married Raphael Flanagan January 23rd, 1935 in Argyle, WI. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1983.

Mrs. Flanagan was employed at the Rock Island Housing Authority, retiring from the accounting department. She had also been employed at the Rock Island Arsenal and the former St. Anthony’s Hospital, Rock Island.

Frances was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island and their women’s circle. She loved to travel and did so extensively. She enjoyed baking, reading, spending time on her porch and in her yard caring for her flowers and visiting with her friends and neighbors.

Frances was a wonderful mother and a great neighbor and friend. She was a very unselfish, optimistic person who always thought of other’s needs ahead of her own. She was happiest when others were happy. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know her.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, John and Claire Flanagan, Bettendorf; granddaughter, Heather L. Smith, Bettendorf and great granddaughter, Nicole Smith, Bettendorf.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
