Ellen R. Glimpse, 85, of Moline, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island. Services for Mrs. Glimpse will be 10 am Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Ellen was born on October 7, 1925 in Sanborn, Minnesota the daughter of George and Adelheid (Weber) Kosel. She married Edward H. Glimpse on July 27, 1945 in Rock Island. He preceded his wife in death on February 3, 1977. Ellen worked in the Dietary Dept. of Moline Public Hospital for many years before she retired. Her memberships include St. John’s Lutheran Church, East Moline. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Rev. Edward A. (Glenna) Glimpse, Franklin, MN., Sherri J. (Rick) Cassini, Rock Island; grandchildren, Kelly (Brad) Grigsby, Juli (Larry) Bauer, James Glimpse, Damian (Cheyenne) Cassini, Andrew (Cortney) Cassini, Nisa Cassini (Keith Simpson), Angela (Jon) Kelley; 15 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Alveda Myhre, Hawick, MN.

Mrs. Glimpse was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, James Glimpse; daughter, Yvonne Glimpse; six sisters and two brothers. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.wheelanpressly.com
