| John T. Lusson, 52, of Rock Island, died Monday October 24, 2011 at Trinity, Rock Island.|
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home 3030 – 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Alleman High School.
John was born January 16, 1959 in Davenport, IA, a son of Jerome V. and Evelyn I. Patterson Lusson. He married Diana L. Dieterich on September 24, 1983 in Rock Island.
John was employed for 25 years with the City of Rock Island, from which he retired in 2007. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, and Allouez Council 658, Knights of Columbus, Rock Island.
John enjoyed being with family and friends. He was very active in his children’s lives and activities. He enjoyed coaching basketball for a time at Jordan School.
He was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and the Fighting Illini.
Surviving are his wife, Diana, of Rock Island; son, Michael Lusson, Normal, IL; daughter, Aimee Lusson, Chicago, IL; brothers, Stephen E. (Juanita) Lusson, Corpus Christi, TX, and Michael J. (Molly) Lusson, Raleigh, NC; sister, Judith Durbin, Rock Island; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.

There are many memories of good times spent with John back in our Alleman days. I have not lived in the area for many years now but hearing of John's passing brings back thoughts of times past as if they happened yesterday. God bless John and his entire family; my prayers are with you.
