| Albert J. Romine, 70, of Tipton, IA, formerly of Milan, died Saturday December 3, 2011 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial with military honors will be at Andalusia Cemetery, Andalusia, IL. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Patriot Guard Riders of the Quad Cities. Albert was born February 11, 1941 in Rock Island, IL, the son of John C. Romine and Leona A. Horton Romine. He was a truck driver for Pepsi, Fresh Pack Candy Co., and then Martin-Brower until entering the U.S. Army. He served with honor in Vietnam and was a purple heart recipient. Due to his injuries received in Vietnam he was permanently disabled. Albert was a member of Milan American Legion Post 569 and the former V.F.W. Post 4177, as well the 40 & 8 Voiture 237, Moline. He enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the Niabi Zoo. Surviving are his sons (and spouses), Allen (Sherry) Romine, and Jerry (Pat) Romine, all of Florida; grandchildren, Jessica (Roger) Ealy and Shane and Eric Romine; stepgrandson, Alan; sisters, Donna (Gerry) Northup, Tipton, IA, and Evelyn (Kenneth) Horton, Missouri; one niece, Susan Hartung; two nephews, Robert Sherwood and Charles Horton; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Kenneth Horton, Jr. | |

so sorry to hear about albert. our thoughts and prayers are with the family. mom (iona holliday) and nancy got to visit him while they were in illinois just a few months ago. we are unable to return to illinois but we are thinking of you.
