Frances F. “Faye” Taber, 70, of Rock Island, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services for Ms. Taber will be 11 am Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Inurnment will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Shelter, Milan.

Frances Faye Ogden was born on November 18, 1941 in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of Ursal Ogden and Beatrice (Farwell) Ogden. She married Ronald C. Taber in

October of 1963 in Rock Island. Faye worked as a Contract Specialist in the Procurement Office at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 30 years. She retired from government service in 2007. Faye was an avid bridge player and enjoyed going to movies and to the theater. She especially enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters.

Survivors include her children, Erik (Karen) Taber, North Liberty, Iowa, Stephanie (Tim) Minich, Whitmore Lake, Michigan; granddaughters, Erin and Rachel Taber; step sister, Barb (Tom) Lawless; step brother, Alan (Robyn) Jensen; a step brother in law, Dave Unger; and her cat, “Tiger”.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; step father, Merlin “Bud” Jensen; and a step sister, Carolyn Unger. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.wheelanpressly.com

Faye was a true friend. We worked together for many years at the RIA. We kept in touch after retirement and I will miss her tremendously. Rest in peace, Faye.
