Michael D. Tucker, 71, of Taylorville, IL, formerly of the Quad City area, died at 9:59 am Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his residence.

He was born July 23, 1940 in Moline, IL, the son of Bert B, and Rosene C. Nanke Tucker. On February 22, 1964 he married Patricia L. Patterson at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Island, IL. Mr. Tucker was a member and Deacon of Grace Community Church. He retired in June 1999 as a truck driver for Rudolf Express and was a member of the Teamsters Local 916, Springfield. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of American Legion Post 198 in Petersburg.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Tucker of Taylorville, Daughter, Dawn M. Walch and husband Kevin of Taylorville, and a grandson, Brent M. Walch of Taylorville. Brothers-in-law: James R. Patterson and wife Melody, and Ron Schneckloth and Sister-in-law: Sandra Jones and husband Frank. Numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Lawrence J. Tucker and Bert. B. Tucker and a sister, Lela Tucker in infancy.

Memorial services will be held locally at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 – 7th Ave., Rock Island, IL, with visitation following until 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date.
