James A. “Guido” Gibbs, 60, of Rock Island, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his home. Cremation rites accorded. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date at the family’s home. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family. James was born on January 13, 1952 in Muscatine, IA, the son of Allen Frederick and Donna Irwin Gibbs. Guido loved life. He was highly active in computer sciences, and he was also a professional bass player. He is survived by; his children, Tracy, John, and Heather Gibbs, of Moline, and Christina Gibbs, Arizona; several grandchildren; mother, Donna Gibbs, Rock Island; sisters, Carol Eisentrager, Moline, Shirley Doyle, Carbondale, CO, and Cheryl Carey, Rock Island; his brothers, Dale Wingler, Scott Wisely, Allan Dore, Lippy and Steve Carey, and Tom Boyd; and many nieces and nephews. Guido’s father preceded him in death. | |

We are very sorry to hear about your brother/Dad. We have alot of fond memories of being together with Jim, especially our trip to Disney World in Orlando, FL and playing volleyball in our back yard. We shall miss Jim. May God grant him peace. Fred & Pat
