| Barbara J. Sexton, 75, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7p.m. Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to the American Lung Association. Barbara Paprocki was born on July 30, 1936 in Tarnov, Nebraska, a daughter of Ted and Bernadette Starzec Paprocki. She married David L. Sexton on November 14, 1959 in Columbus, Nebraska. He died November 4, 1992. Barb worked as a personnel technician at the Rock Island County Health Care Center, Rock Island for over 20 years and later worked several years at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. She had also been a home health care provider and in earlier years ran a licensed daycare in her home. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island and member and past officer of the church's Altar and Rosary Society and St. Vincent DePaul Society. Barb enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. Survivors include her sons, Scott Sexton, Michael J. Sexton, Patrick G. Sexton and James J. Sexton (fiancée, Joyce Polton), all of Rock Island; step granddaughter, Ayla Alvarez, Rock Island; her mother, Bernadette Paprocki, Rock Island; sisters and brothers, Rosemary (Herb) Schmidt, Kansas City, Mo., Lorraine (Dick) McGrath, Thornton, Colo., Larry (Jean) Paprocki, Moline, Eugene (JP) Paprocki, Rock Island, Madeline (Loys) Caldwell, Castle Rock, Colo., and Theresa (Bill) Noel, Monmouth, Ill.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
