Vigil Service: Rosary 4:00 p.m. Friday March 09, 2012 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, Ill.
Interment: Saturday March 10, 2012 at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill.

Barbara J. Sexton, 75, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7p.m. Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to the American Lung Association.

Barbara Paprocki was born on July 30, 1936 in Tarnov, Nebraska, a daughter of Ted and Bernadette Starzec Paprocki. She married David L. Sexton on November 14, 1959 in Columbus, Nebraska. He died November 4, 1992.

Barb worked as a personnel technician at the Rock Island County Health Care Center, Rock Island for over 20 years and later worked several years at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. She had also been a home health care provider and in earlier years ran a licensed daycare in her home.

She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island and member and past officer of the church's Altar and Rosary Society and St. Vincent DePaul Society. Barb enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.

Survivors include her sons, Scott Sexton, Michael J. Sexton, Patrick G. Sexton and James J. Sexton (fiancée, Joyce Polton), all of Rock Island; step granddaughter, Ayla Alvarez, Rock Island; her mother, Bernadette Paprocki, Rock Island; sisters and brothers, Rosemary (Herb) Schmidt, Kansas City, Mo., Lorraine (Dick) McGrath, Thornton, Colo., Larry (Jean) Paprocki, Moline, Eugene (JP) Paprocki, Rock Island, Madeline (Loys) Caldwell, Castle Rock, Colo., and Theresa (Bill) Noel, Monmouth, Ill.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; husband; son, Thomas E. Sexton; and an infant daughter.

Our sympathy to the family. We had many good times With Barb&Dave when they lived in Denver. Barb & I were like sisters when we were growing up. Whatever mischief she didn't think of I did. I will miss our Christmas greeting very much. I hope she will greet me when I go home as well. So sorry
