| Sonya R. Harris, 43, of Davenport, IA, died Sunday March 4, 2012 at Genesis West, Davenport. Services are 12:00 p.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 – 7th Ave., Rock Island, IL, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family. Sonya was born February 26, 1969 in Davenport, a daughter of Sam Benjamin and Evelyn Harris. She graduated from Davenport North High School in 1987. She was a childcare provider in her home for 19 years. She was a member of the Good News Center, Davenport, and enjoyed participating on their dance team. Sonya will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are her children, Jasmine Guy and Jania Guy, both of Davenport; grandchild, Jaydin Guy, Davenport; father, Sam Benjamin, Davenport; sisters, Wyvette Harris, Angie (Walter) Robinson, Elisha Carpenter, and Terae Benjamin, all of Davenport; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother. | |
