Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 3921 - 20th Street, Columbus, NE. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Isidore Catholic Church,and additional visitation 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. A Vigil Service will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to McKown Funeral Home, 2922 – 13th St., Columbus, NE 68601.

Bernadette was born on September 24, 1913 in Tarnov, Nebraska the daughter of Sylvester and Mary (Jarosz) Starzec. She received her early education in Tarnov. July 18 1933 she married Theodore J. Paprocki. They farmed in the Tarnov and Albion areas before moving to Columbus in 1955. Bernadette worked as the cafeteria manager for St. Anthony's grade school, before retiring from Dale Electronics.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking and entertaining family and friends. A member of St. Isidore, she was also a member of Christian Mothers. She moved from Columbus in 2000 to be close to her family.

Bernadette is survived by her children; Rosemarie (Herb) Schmidt of Kansas City, KS, Lorraine (Richard) McGrath of Thornton, CO., Larry (Jean) Paprocki of Moline, Il., Eugene (Jean) Paprocki of Rock Island, Il, Mattie (Loys) Caldwell of Castle Rock, CO., and Theresa (Bill) Noel of Monmouth, Il., 28 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, one brother Sonny Starzec and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bernadette is preceded in death by her husband Ted, daughter Barbara Sexton, grandson Tom Sexton, one infant granddaughter and one infant great grandson, sisters Josphine Sliva and Vera Vanderheiden, brothers Steven and Al Starzec.
