| Sheri L. Simmons, 55, of Milan, died Saturday, Apr. 21, 2012 at Trinity Moline. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Sheri Lynn Wyers was born on July 31, 1956 in Rock Island, a daughter of James R. and Nancy Lee Lessman Wyers. She married Charles D. Simmons on June 1, 1990 in Rock Island. Sheri graduated from Rock Island High School in 1974 and received her Associates Degree from Black Hawk College. She was currently finishing her bachelor’s degree with only a few hours remaining. She worked as a secretary in the maintenance dept. of the Moline School District. She loved to learn, attend school and was an avid reader. Survivors include her husband Charles; sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph A. Garard, Rock Island, and William A. and Abby Pedersen, Champaign, Ill.; grandchildren, Tristin Peterson, Kayden Garard, and Sawyer Pedersen; her mother, Nancy Lee Brimberg, Rock Island; grandmother, Laura M. Lessman, Rock Island; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Astrid Wyers, Davenport, Gregory and Lisa Wyers, Rock Island, Robert and Tracy Wyers, Rock Island, and Donald and Angel Brimberg, Moline; sisters and brother-in-law, Kelley and Charles Calkins, La Vergne, Tenn., and Deanna Wright, Louisville, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Alberta (Calvin) Parmley, Milan, and Sharon Bleyaert (Stuby), Rock Island; brother-in-law, Michael (Silvia) Simmons, Cary, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Chuck, I thought the world of Sheri. She had a unmistakable laugh. I truly enjoyed talking to her very much. I will truly miss her very very much!!!!!

I am so at a loss for words. I will miss her laugh and the way her dry sense of humor made me laugh. Sheri and I worked together in the same building we would run into each other several times a day & we always took a few minutes to chat. She will be so missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Rest in Peace Sheri
