| Kimberly LaShar Battie, 25, of Rock Island, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services for Kimberly will be 10 am, Wednesday at the Third Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Committal services will be at Chippiannock Cemetery Chapel, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family for the benefit of her children. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family. Kimberly was born on March 10, 1987 in Rock Island, a daughter of Eldora Battie and Robert McGowan. Kim graduated from North High School. She enjoyed doing scrap booking, she also loved hanging out with family and friends and listening to music. Most of all enjoyed spending time with her daughters. Kim had battled Sickle Cell Anemia her entire life. Those left to loving cherish Kimberly’s memory are her daughters, DaRyla Shears and Kimmiah Battie, at home; mother, Eldora Battie, Moline; father, Robert McGowan, Davenport; sisters, Cassillia Battie, Rock Island, Christine Bryson and Breanna McGowan, Davenport; brothers, Jerome Wilson, Robert Howard, Tarrell Howard and Cameron McGowan, all of Davenport; aunts, Gloria Lee, Brenda McGowen, Patricia McGowan, Kennesha McGowan all of Davenport; uncles, Cornelius Lee, Micheal McGowan and Dawayne McGowan, all of Davenport; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. I knew Kim because she had come to our church a few times. I was saddened to see she had passed away. Praying for her family and friends to be comforted in their grief. God bless you.

kim your family are and has step in with with the girls the battie and mcgowns your brothers your aunt t k.mcgowns every thing is likr it should be with both sides of your family we all love them and i sick about this all with you wish your fother could had step in better he still having step up as a grandfother and that hurt? but god got our back
