| Elijah Lucas III, 81, of Goodyear, AZ, formerly of East Moline, left this life on July 18, 2012 at his home. Visitation will be held from 1-4 PM Saturday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Cremation rites will follow. Inurnment will be at a later date in Arizona. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Elijah was born on January 15, 1931 in Turrell, AR, the son of Elijah Sr. and Jamie Wright Lucas. Elijah retired from John Deere Harvester after 42 years. He will be greatly missed. He leaves to mourn his wife, Ruth; four daughters, Gloria (Harvey) Fentress, Cherry (Wayne) Sivels, Mella Tillman, and Vickie Lucas; four sons, Kevin Lucas, Gordon (Eva) Lucas, Carlis Lucas, and Louis (Nancy) Lucas; 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Stanley Lucas and Elijah Lucas Jr., who just passed on July 13, 2012; and two daughters, Casandra and Denise. | |
