M. Agnes Eastin, 98, of Milan,formerly of Mercer County, MO, died Wednesday August 1, 2012 at Trinity, Rock Island.

Local services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 6th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, IL, where visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Additional services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7th, at Bethel Church, Mercer County, MO, with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be at Bethel Church Cemetery, Mercer, MO, following services Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mary Agnes Hildebrand was born July 12, 1914, a daughter of William W. and Mahala Cooper Hildebrand. She married Arthur G. Eastin on December 11, 1933 in Evening Shade, MO. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1985, after 51 years of marriage.

Agnes was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for many years. She also was employed at the former Plantation restaurant, Moline, for 20 years.

Her faith and family were very important to her. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan, where she taught Sunday School for many years. In earlier years, she served as a 4-H leader, and had taught Vacation Bible School.

Agnes enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening and flowers, and traveling. She and her husband also enjoyed playing the piano and fiddle at square dances when they lived in Missouri.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Bonnie Eastin, Aledo, IL, daughter and son-in-law, Neva Lea and Lyle Miller, Orion, IL, son and daughter-in-law, B. Dale and Suzanne Eastin, Mercer, MO, daughter, Nina Collis, Moline, IL, and daughter-in-law, Georgia Eastin, Mercer, MO; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; numerous great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Larry Lee Roy Eastin, six brothers and four sisters, Elmer Hildebrand, Otto Hildebrand, Stella Hildebrand, Etta Hildebrand Rampani, Christena Hildebrand Routh, Iris Hildebrand Clark, Clearance Hildebrand, Dorsey Hildebrand, Paul Hildebrand, and Rodney Hildebrand.

Agnes was like a second mother to me. She was there for me when my mother passed away in 1966. Nina, Agnes, Arthur and I had some fun times together, I will miss your mom very much and my prayers are with you and your family. Love to you all.
