Colette M Unzel

Colette M. Unzel, 65, East Moline, IL passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Genesis Illini Hospital, Silvis following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. There will be a visitation from 1-2:00 PM with a funeral service following at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the QC Animal Welfare Center.

Colette was born on December 11, 1958 to Robert and Alice (Arndt) Wolfe in Moline, IL. She grew up in East Moline and graduated from United Township in 1977. During high school she was enrolled in a work program with Illini Hospital and then continued her career as a unit tech there for over thirty years.

On October 17, 1992, Colette was united in marriage to Darrel Unzel at St. John’s Lutheran Church in East Moline, IL. They were members of the church for many years, until her health declined.

Colette was an avid gardener who enjoyed tending to her roses. She was an animal lover who adored the many pets she had over the years. She also like collecting Jim Shore and Isabel Bloom statues.

She is survived by her husband, Darrel; mother-in-law, Berniece Unzel; brothers-in-law, Todd Unzel and Jim Fuller; sister-in-law, Linda Wolfe; five nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bruce Wolfe and Heather Fuller; and father-in-law, Merle Unzel.
