Dennis Mosley

Dennis L. Mosley, 83, of Rock Island, passed away, Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Illinois Veterans Home, in Quincy, IL.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2024, from 9:30am to 10:30am at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to any veteran's organization or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Dennis was born on July 10, 1940, in Centerville, IA, to Leroy and Clara (Watts) Mosley. Dennis served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1981. He served 4 tours in Vietnam and was very proud to be a veteran. Dennis was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Dennis enjoyed waking up and getting on his CB Radio to talk with his buddies. Those same buddies met at Hardee’s on Sunday morning to talk and catch up. He loved gardening and trying to get everyone else to garden as well. He was great at junking. He even made bicycles from his junking treasures for 5 of the neighbor girls. Dennis also enjoyed camping at Hidden Lake, where he made many friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Cynthia (Mike) Pearson, Don (Donna) Duff, Tim DeNeve, Janet Mosley; grandchildren, Austin, Colten, Joshua, Cody, Erik, Christopher, Chrissy, Bryan, James, Charles, Sam, Kailey; brother, Dwight (Pennie) Mosley; and sister-in-law, Pat Mosley.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Mosley; and siblings, Bonnie Motley, Toni Henseler, and Philip Mosley.
