                Bernard "Bernie" J. Huber, 95, of Rock Island formerly of Reynolds, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation Pavilion, Rock Island.

                A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous, Monticello, IA. 

                Bernie was born on December 23, 1921 in Rock Island, the son of Joseph and Pansy (Dalton) Huber.  He married Opal Halford on September 6, 1952 at Sacred Heart, Rock Island.  She preceded him in death on October 11, 1991.  He was a proud WWII veteran serving with the US Navy Aviation Cadets, US Army Aviation Cadets and in the US Army-Airforce as a flight instructor.  Bernie was a field engineer at Reminton-Rand Univac in Davenport for 16 years.  Later he owned and operated Bernie's Harley Davidson in North Liberty, IA for 27 years before moving to Reynolds.  He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Andalusia, and a former member of the Allouez Council #658 Knights of Columbus, Rock Island. 

                Bernie is survived by his brother, Alfred (Mary) Huber, Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Huber; parents; and sister, Mary Ann Oakes.
