Cecil “Casey” F. Casey, 78, of Andalusia passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at home.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 17th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, with visitation two hours prior to services. Burial, with military honors presented by Milan American Legion, Post 569, will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Andalusia Ambulance Service or Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
“Casey” was born December 22, 1939, in Springfield, IL., the son of Donald and Mary Ellen Pile Casey. He graduated from Reynolds High School, Class of 1958. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Mary Ann Mull on September 11, 1970, in Bettendorf, Iowa.
He worked for many years and retired from the Rock Island Arsenal. Prior to the Arsenal, he worked at Williams, White & Company, Moline. During his retirement, he enjoyed being a handyman and “Mr. Fix-it”.
“Casey” loved to tell stories, drive “his” truck, talk on the CB Radio, and had a fondness for McDonald’s cheeseburgers. He enjoyed woodworking and making Pinewood Derby cars with his grandchildren, Levi and Tyler. He liked to dance and enjoyed going to the Girl Scout father-daughter dances with Kayla. In earlier years, “Casey” enjoyed riding his dirt-bike and going to dirt-bike rallies.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann, of Andalusia; daughter, Sara Casey, and her children, Kayla (Robert) Purdy, and Tyler Casey, all of Andalusia; Scottie and Anna Chaplin of Davenport, and Levi (Brittany) Mallinger of Wisconsin, and his great-grandchildren, Kayden “Little Buddy” and R.J. Purdy.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, and his son- in- law Scott Mallinger.
