Dale Orwig Obituary

Dale Orwig, 90, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at his home.  Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2767 9th St, Rock Island.  Private inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Rock Island. 

Dale was born February 3, 1929 in Prairie City Twp., Illinois, a son of James Forrest and Esther F. (McMahill) Orwig.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  Dale married Thelma Craver in Prairie City, IL in 1953.  After over 50 years of marriage, Thelma passed away in June 3, 2006.  Dale later married Nadine Harper on November 24, 2007.  Dale spent his working career as a union electrician, working for many area contractors.  He retired in 1998 after 55 years of service.  Dale was a proud member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Rock Island.  He served his community as an Elder for many years, making lifelong friends in the process.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nadine; son, D. Kent (Mary) Orwig, Milan; step sons, Douglas Bebber, Rock Island, Steve Bebber, Sarasota, FL and Dale Bebber, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; granddaughters, Christina and Cassandra Orwig; sister, E. Marie Orwig, Woodstock, IL and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Thelma; stepson, Mark Peterson; a sister, Eileen F. Orwig and brother, William H. Orwig
