Denise Nixon Obituary

Denise Marie Nixon, 62, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday August 4, 2018 at her home.

A Memorial service will be held at 12:00pm Saturday August 18, 2018 at Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. The family will greet friends from 11:00am to service time. Memorials may be left to the Quad City Autism Society.

Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Denise was born on September 22, 1955 in Rock Island, the daughter of Billy and Lois (Nielsen) Nixon.

She had been employed at McFarland Budelier Insurance Agency and also as a home care provider.

Denise was a lifetime member of Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church, where she served a s a deacon and taught Sunday school. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, gardening and cooking for family.

Survivors include her children, Shawn M. Bleuer(Amanda Palmer), Colona, Samantha Bleuer(Isaac Harrington), Rock Island, Stacy (Jeremy) Villarreal, Milan; her mother, Lois, Rock Island; 11 grandchildren, Kim, Austin, Kylie, Jordyn, Bella, Devin, James, Khloe, Jeremy Jr., Jacob and Keola; 1 great grandson, Remy; sister, Lisa(Patrick) McFarland, Rock Island; brother, David(Cindy) Nixon, Springfield; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Pete and Sue Lyons . With special thanks to her cousins Charmaine Brasher, Becky Oak and to Unity Point Hospice Nurse Andy for providing loving care.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy and husband Vern.
