Elmer C.. Mueller

                Elmer C. Mueller, 94, of Silvis formerly of Milan, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at New Perspectives, Silvis.

                Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to service time at the church.  Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge, with military honors conducted by Reynolds American Legion Post #1166.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island or to Hospice Compassus.

                Elmer was born on August 11, 1924 in Taylor Ridge, the son on Fred and Clara (Attig) Mueller.  He married Jean Meewes on April 27, 1952 in Rock Island.  Elmer worked for the U.S. Postal Service as an Assistant Postmaster.  He was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.  Elmer enjoyed traveling with his wife Jean, via cruises, bus trips, or the train.  He also loved gardening and farming. 

                Elmer is survived by his sons, Kevin (Gail) Mueller and Craig (Chris) Mueller; grandchildren, Angela Mueller and Mike (Dusty) Mueller; sister-in-laws, Edith Mueller and Gertrude Mueller; several nieces and nephews; and good friends, Jim and Diane Newton.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Mueller; parents; sisters, Emma Seitz, Christina Krahl, and Anna Curry; and brothers, Daniel, Harold, Clifford, Leonard, Maynard, Carl, and Alvin Mueller.
