Frank M. Talboom, 85 of Rock Island, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.
A time of sharing will be 11:30 am on Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, it will be preceded by a visitation from 10 am until 11:30. Burial is at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
Frank was born March 1, 1933 in the Rock Island, the son of Florimond “Farmer” and Isabelle Talbot Talboom. He married Norma J. Hallin on July 21, 1972 in Rock Island. She died Feb. 20, 2010.
He retired from the Rock Island Public Schools, where he provided maintenance in buildings district wide. Frank had also done custodial work at Washington Junior High and Franklin Junior High. He was a gifted body and fender repairman having worked at Economy Motors, Horst-Zimmerman Cadillac, Mill’s Chevrolet and Ray’s Body Shop, Andalusia. In early years he worked for the Container Corp.
Frank loved animals, especially dogs.
Survivors include his children, Pam (Dave) Willers, Colorado Springs, Colo., Cherie (Mike) Lincoln, Coal Valley, and Frank Talboom, East Moline; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Norma.
