Jean L. (Meewes) Mueller

                Jean L. Mueller, 87, of Silvis formerly of Milan, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at New Perspective, Silvis.

                Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service.  Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge.  Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island.

                Jean was born on August 27, 1930 in New Liberty, IA, the daughter of Frank and Florence (Fahrenkrug) Meewes.  She married Elmer Mueller on April 27, 1952 in Illinois.  Jean worked for the Rock Island Argus for 18 years in the circulation department.  She was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling, needle pointing, and gardening. 

                Jean is survived by her husband, Elmer Mueller; sons, Kevin (Gail) Mueller and Craig (Chris) Mueller; grandchildren, Angela Mueller and Mike (Dusty) Mueller; siblings, Donald Meewes and Marlene Colbert; numerous nieces and nephews; and good friends Jim and Diane Newton.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Delmar Meewes and Elnora Hitchcock.
