Peg and I met decades ago at Methodist Hill Children's Center. She "strong armed" me into the Executive Director position, that she was leaving. Always my best supporter and advisor. Her warm smile, hugs and loving spirit welcomed me and kept me close to her, even though many years would pass without making contact.

Please advise when the memorial service will be held in Des Moines.

I am saddened to learn of Peg's death. Through the New Horizons Program of the Des Moines Public Schools, Peg was a wonderfully skilled mentor to disadvantaged young people who gained work experience with her at Methodist Hills Children's Center beginning in 1968. Whatever Peg undertook in our community was done with great credibility and with a cheerful spirit--whether at Ronald McDonald House, Bidwell Riverside Center, Wakonda Christian Church, or wherever she served. I greatly admired her!

Robin and Mark and Families, I am sorry for your loss. Your mother and father were two of the greatest people I have ever known. The time I got to spend with them at Wakonda Christian Church provided me with many great memories.

When my husband and I met Peg and Ken McDougall, we knew right away they were a "power-couple" of good works! Peg and Ken were good friends of Louise Mays and we were powers-of-attorney for Louise. We looked forward to many opportunities to be with Peg, Ken, and Louise for enlightening conversations and we always felt inspired at the evening's end. Each of us strive to make the world a better place...Peg and Ken accomplished it!
