Michael Pace Obituary

Michael W. Pace, 68, of Milan, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be April 27, 2019 from 12pm to 3pm at the Milan American Legion Post 569. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Milan American Legion Post 569 or the Rock Island County Meals on Wheels. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family.

Michael was born in Rock Island on March 27, 1950, the son of Melvin and Carol Hammond Pace. He graduated from Sherrard High School, class of “68”.

Michael worked for IH Harvester for many years. He also worked at Westend Auto, were he did auto body work. He later joined the Teamsters as a Semi Driver. In Michael’s spare time he enjoyed restoring vintage garden tractors.

Michael was a member of the Rock Island Eagles, Rock Island Moose Lodge Chapter 190, SAL Member of the Milan American Legion Post 569 and the local Teamsters 371. He enjoyed going to the local auto shows and the vintage garden tractor shows. He enjoyed passing on his knowledge of Vintage garden tractors on to the younger generations.  Michael also loved to get his bike out for a ride on a nice day. Most of all, he loved people, he was a very kind and loving person to everybody, he never knew a stranger.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Carol Pace, RI; and sisters Donna Rowe, RI, Diana Redmond ,NH, and Alice (Ned Quist) Pace ,RI; children, Matthew Pace, TX, Dustin Pace,AZ, Rachel Kurth,AZ, Steven Pace ,AZ, and Jason Lofquist ,IL, and 7 grandchildren

 He was preceded in death by his father, brother Lonnie Pace, son Joshua Lofquist and brother in law Warren Rowe.
