Paul R. Higgins, Jr.

 Paul R. Higgins, Jr., 71, of Milan, passed away Thursday January 11, 2018 at UnityPoint- Trinity, Rock Island.

 In accordance with his wishes, the family will have a Celebration of Paul’s life at a later date. Interment will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Arrangements are entrusted to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.

 Paul was born June 23, 1946 in Chicago, IL, a son of Paul, Sr. and Margery R. Carlyle Higgins. He graduated from Rock Island High School, Class of 1964.

 He retired from the City of Rock Island, Water Department following 25 years of service. He was a proud union member of AFSCME, Local 988.

 Paul will be fondly remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend. His dry sense of humor will be missed by all. He was an avid fan of westerns, and enjoyed watching them whenever he could.

 Surviving are his brother, Michael Higgins, Rock Island; sister-in-law, Kathy Higgins, Milan; nieces, Megan Higgins, Rock Island, Jennifer Higgins-Bote, Milan, and Hannah Higgins, Davenport; great niece, Vivienne Bote; and many friends.

 Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin brother, Earl Higgins.
