Robert C. Proehl, Sr.

Robert C. Proehl, Sr., 79, of Milan, Ill., passed away Monday June 10, 2019 at home.

A memorial service will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Inurnment will be at a later date. A memorial visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.

Robert was born March 13, 1940 in Rock Island, a son of Henry and Adeline Huntley Proehl. He married Mary Z. Suggs on June 29, 1958 in Rock Island.

He worked at Roth Tank Company for a time. He then worked and retired from Milan Radiator.

Robert loved to hunt and fish with his son, Bobby Jr. and son-in-law, Mike. He raised pigeons and fish. He enjoyed baseball, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Robert especially enjoyed seeing the Cubs win the World Series. He enjoyed putting puzzles together and caring for his beloved pet dog, Nina.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Mary, of Milan; children, Connie (Mike) Morris, Milan, Bobby Proehl, Jr., and Jay (Lori) Proehl, all of Milan; grandchildren, Ashley Morris, Josh (Amanda) Martin, Spencer, Cameron, Kaylea and Kegan Proehl; great-grandson, Tyler; sister, Rachel Ivory, Davenport; sister-in-law, Linda Proehl, Davenport; and several nieces, nephews, and other family.

Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Proehl; brother, Richard Proehl; and brother-in-law, Oliver Ivory.
