Ted Muhammad

Ted Muhammad, 67, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.  A memorial  service for Ted will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7^th Ave., Rock Island. 

Ted was born Theodore Childs on October 11, 1950 to Jesse Ivy and Jessie B. Johnson.  He was later adopted by Betty and Andrew Muskeyvalley.  Ted served his country in the U.S. Navy and worked as an auto body technician and painter for many years.  He greatly enjoyed drawing, fishing, spending time with his family and frequenting area casinos. 

Those left to cherish Ted’s memory are his children, Malcolm Muhammad, Kansas; Patricia Lewis, Georgia; Farrad and Takeisha Muhammad, both of Rock Island; grandchildren, Patrick Roache, Ariah Beadel, Maleah Beadel, Ibriham Habona and Janiyah Beadel; siblings; Edwin and Willie Childs, Pearlie Barron, Jesse, Jack T. and Jackie Johnson, Lorrie Pollard, Timmie Johnson and Deborah and Anthony Armstrong; Robert, Ronel, and Raymond Muskeyvalley,  Ducan Fallon,  Roma Taylor, Robin Taylor, Rhodesa Rush, Renee Simmons, Renita Day and Roshawn Wilson; mother of his children Clara Muhammad; sister/friend, Christine Weddle, and extended family, Rashandra Oatis, Shamica Weddle, Anthony and Aamiyah Mitchell, Andrew Sullivan and Amariyana Taylor.

 He is preceded in death by parents, Betty Muskeyvalley-Wilson, Andrew Muskeyvalley, Theodore Wilson and Jesse Ivy; brother, Tommie Johnson and son, Matthew Muhammad.
