Vivian was born in rural Des Moines, Iowa on July 15, 1930, a daughter of George and Alice Stewart Minarsich.  She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Rock Island, in 1948.

Vivian married Robert A. Holmquist on December 1, 1951.  Three sons were born to this marriage, Steve, Larry and Joe.  Mr. Holmquist died May 26, 1993.  Vivian married Leonard F. Magier on October 7, 1994.

Vivian lived in Rock Island, Moline, Monmouth and East Moline throughout the years.  She worked for Augustana College and McCabe's Department Store, however, she prided herself as a homemaker and cook.

In Vivian's younger years, she did a lot of craft work with her first husband.  She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, shopping, playing dice and going to the casinos.  She loved her family and especially  enjoyed being a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard F. Magier, Moline; son, Larry Holmquist, Lake Thunderhead, Mo.; granddaughter, Melisa (Chris) Wagler, Rock Island; great-grandson, Samuel Wagler; sister whom she helped raise, Sheila Rae Goderis, East Moline; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, parents, sons, Steve and Joe Holmquist and siblings, Anna Mae, Martha "Rene", Charles, Mildred, Norma and George.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for all of their compassionate and loving care!
