Wilda “Jan” McCanna, 79, of Coyne Center, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Funeral services are 11 am on Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Milan. Visitation is 2 to 5 Sunday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Private burial will be Tuesday at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Jan Moore was born Feb. 12, 1939 in Chicora, Penn., a daughter of Clarence and Anna Moore. She married Jack McCanna on May 15, 1959 in Chicora. He died Oct. 14, 2014.
She had worked in customer service at Von Maur at SouthPark Mall, Moline and previously was employed at the Jaydon Corp., Milan.
Jan was a member and past Deacon at First Presbyterian Church, Milan. She had also been a member of the Coyne Center Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Jan enjoyed gardening, crocheting, going to garage sales and to the casinos. She also loved her fur baby, Benji.
Survivors include her children (and spouses), Lori (David) Shield, Matherville and Dan (Angie) McCanna, Nichols, Iowa; grandchildren, Michael Shields, Kristina Galvan, Kaleb Shields, Megan Shields, Brandan McCanna, Ashley Adolphson, Whitney Martin and Dane McCanna; 19 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Molly McCurdy, Fort Worth, Tex., and her twin, Jen Preston, Warren, Penn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and sister, Phyllis Kohlmeyer.
