Geraldine "Gerry" E. Eagle, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, formerly of Rock Island, IL, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024 in Portage, WI after late complications from a fall in 2020.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday December 21, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Friends are welcome to greet the family from 9:00 AM to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gerry's name to The Friends of Vander Veer Park in Davenport, IA or Brain Injury Association of America.

Gerry was born in Moline, IL, the daughter of Edward and Lorraine (Dallaire) Eagle. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School and later worked as the Activities Director at Friendship Manor, where she developed many close and long lasting friendships. She enjoyed serving her community as a volunteer tutor for children and helping out at the humane society.

Gerry was a woman of many talents and she had an eye for beauty. She lived a life marked by creativity, elegance, and a deep love for those around her. She was a gifted flower arranger. Her floral designs were thoughtfully composed with her own unique sense of style. She had a great appreciation for art, both as creator and collector. Her home was a testament to her taste, filled with carefully chosen works that reflected her personal style and her keen eye. She was also an avid gardener with a special gift for creating harmony in the world around her with beautiful plants and flowers. Above all, Gerry was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her family brought her great joy. Though her final years were shaped by the challenges of her accident, those who had the privilege of knowing her will remember her humor, kindness, and generosity.

A special thank you to Gerry's many dear friends and family whose countless letters and cards kept her spirits high in the difficult years following her accident. They brought her so much joy and she cherished every one.

Gerry is survived by her sons Stephen (Steffanie) Murphy, Portage, WI and Jeffrey (Michelle) Murphy, Cornelius, NC; five grandchildren, Catherine and Carter Murphy of Cornelius, NC, Charley, Mary and Martha Murphy of Portage, WI; her siblings Nita (Bob) Eagle-Frink, Marc (Shari) Eagle, Jim (Suzanne) Eagle and Bruce (Setsu) Eagle; and her sister-in-law Penny Eagle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Edward "Lew" Eagle III and George "Paul" Eagle.

Gerry's family wishes to thank the staff at Friendship Manor who assisted her after her injury, Our House Assisted Living where she resided until the time of her passing, Agrace Hospice, and the nursing staff at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI for the care given to Gerry.
