Herbert L. Fish, 98, of League City, Texas, formerly of Taylor Ridge and Rock Island, passed away on July 29, 2022 at his home in Texas. Inurnment services will be at a later date at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Herbert was born on June 29, 1924 in Kanoka, Missouri, a son of Clifford and Ruth (Beard) Fish.  He married Ronna Provancha on March 3, 1989 in Rock Island. Herb worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as Lock Master at Lock & Dam 15. He enjoyed collecting antiques and bird watching. Herb was a U.S. Army WW II veteran.

Survivors include his children, Bruce Fish, Silvis, Tana Atkinson, Illinois City, Jackie (Ed) Kernan, Kewanee, Robert (Kathy) Evans Jr., East Moline, James "Brad" Evans, Wildmore, CA., Jennifer (Brian) Walker, Taylor Ridge, Jami (Jarrod) Mattingly, Viola, Jessica Evans, Woodridge, ILL., Jody (Tim) Layton, League City, TX., and Krista Hutton, Moline; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
