Matthew M. Bowling, 53, of Milan, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.  Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4 ^th Ave. E, Milan.  A Celebration of Matthew's Life will be held by the family immediately following visitation at the Rock Island Moose Lodge, 4410 9 ^th St., Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Matthew was born September 22, 1965 in Moline, a son of Matthew Bowling and Mary Young.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and was currently employed as a union roofer.  Matthew had been with Roofer's Local Union 32 for over 30 years.  He loved playing pool and shooting darts.  He was a member of several local pool leagues over the years.  Matthew enjoyed every minute spent with his family and friends.  He was always there to help others and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Alyssa Pool, Oceanside, CA and Abigail Pool, Rock Island; mother, Mary Young; siblings, Elizabeth Hathcock, Alabama and Glenn Bowling, Davenport; nieces, Haley and Stephanie Lee; nephews, Jarod Bowling and Chris Fetter and numerous great nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew.
