Neta Darlyne Carlson, 95, formerly of Rock Island, died Monday, June 9, 2025, at Charter Senior Living of Moline.

Neta was born on July 26, 1929, in Moline, the eldest daughter of Raymond and Helen Riffle Safe. She married Dale A. Carlson on January 30, 1949, at First Congregational Church, Moline. Dale died on August 21, 2012.

Funeral Services will be 11AM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

When the family was young, they enjoyed camping in places all over the country. Neta also loved her time as a swimming instructor at the Rock Island YWCA. As empty-nesters they found a love for cruises, often taking two or more a year. They traveled all over the world frequently with family and friends.

Neta is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Iris Carlson, Lake Bluff, IL, Dennis and Jill Carlson, Bettendorf, IA, and Darron and Lynne Carlson, Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren, Krista Carlson, Fr. Paul Carlson, Anne Buckley, Tabitha Paddock and Jenny Lynch; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua and Michael Paddock, Johnathon Carlson and Lydia and Lucas Buckley. Neta is also survived by her sisters, Joy Lindberg, Billings, MT. and Sharon McCool, Cordova, IL.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Charter Senior Living for the wonderful care and compassion given to Neta over the years. They have been a blessing.
