Ronald E. Suggs, 65, of Milan, passed away Tuesday September 6, 2022 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be 10:30am Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Garden, East Moline. Memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society or Clarissa Cook Hospice House.

Ron was born on December 2, 1956 in St. Louis, the son of George and Mary (Purdom) Suggs.

He had been employed at Alcoa for over 32 years until his retirement in 2009 as a mechanic.

Ron was a member of Steel Workers Union Local 309. He loved watching Nascar racing, working on his vehicles and anything with an engine. In his younger days he had loved to ride his motorcycles. Since retirement, his enjoyment was centered on gadgets, which was evident from his Amazon history.

Survivors include his siblings, Carol and Don Lundquist, Moline, Jim and Jan Suggs, Woolstock, Iowa, Max Suggs, Rock Island; nieces and nephews, Bill Suggs, Brenda Twisdale, Cindy Lundquist, Mitch Morris, Jamie Morris, Ronnie Morris, Jonathon Suggs, Joshua Suggs, Jessica Vandewalle, Tim Suggs Anders; several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary; sister, Pauline Morris and brother, Curtis Suggs.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and caretakers that cared for Ron during his illness.  As Ron would always say on his way out "Take the rest of the day off, tell them I said so."
