Thomas R. Williams, 73, of Fort Mohave, AZ, formerly of Milan, IL, passed away Saturday January 20, 2018 at his sister's home in Davis Junction, IL.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial, with military honors presented by V.V.A. Chapter 299, will be at Preemption Cemetery, Preemption, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.

Thomas was born October 13, 1944 in Moline, a son of Ralph and Alberta Mills Williams. He was previously married to Glenora Leese. He later married Carolyn McFetridge on August 27, 2004 in Rock Island.

Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran. He began a lifelong career in law enforcement with the Milan Police Department and then the Rock Island Police Department. He retired in 1989 from the Rock Island Police Department as a Deputy Lieutenant, following 22 years of public service.

He enjoyed many outdoor activities. A few of his favorites were playing baseball, horseback riding and scuba diving.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn, of Fort Mohave, AZ; sons, Tyree Williams, and his wife Kristin, Chippewa Falls, WI, and Chase Williams and his wife Jennifer, Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, Thomas, Clayton, Carter, Noah, Sydnee, Taylor and Peyton Grace Williams; siblings, Joyce Remy, Milan, Daniel Williams, Silvis, IL, Christine (Dan) Koester, Milan, and Terrie (Randy) Harriott, Davis Junction, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and additional family.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, James Remy.
