Agnes I. Babeu, 90, Moline, IL formerly of Reynolds, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. There will be a visitation from 10-11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan.

Agnes was born on December 15, 1934 to Alva and Julia in East Moline, IL where she grew up and graduated high school. On May 8, 1954 she was united in marriage to Laurence Babeu. The couple started their family in East Moline and later moved to Reynolds before settling on a farm near Taylor Ridge. Agnes was a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother. After her children entered adulthood, she earned her real estate license and worked for Mel Foster and, later, South Towne until her retirement.

As an active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, she was involved with the Blue Cross Mission making quilts for the community, participated in the Wilobee card club, was a member of the senior group, and helped serve funeral luncheons. In her spare time, Agnes loved to read and in recent years enjoyed playing bingo at St. Anne's. She cherished the time she spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Agnes is survived by her children, Steven Babeu, Beth (Butch) Kornegay, Lisa Charlton, and Diane Steinmetz; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Laurence.
