Albert Clash, 88 of Rock Island, Illinois passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island, Illinois. A funeral service will be Saturday, June 11, 9:30 am at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, Illinois. The visitation will be held on Friday, June 10 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Wheelan- Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island.  Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Albert was born December 21, 1927 in Shelby Mississippi to Henry Clash and Sylvia (Simpson) Clash. He married Curlee Juanita Jones in Peoria in 1955, she died April 14, 1977.  He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, one brother and four sisters.

While growing up he worked on the railroads. After working at International Harvester for 25 years, he retired in 1980.

He loved the blues and was the rhythm guitar player for B.B. King during his early years in Mississippi and Memphis Tennessee. During retirement,  he enjoyed restoring classic cars from the 50's. He loved traveling and each highway always had a story that came along with it.

He is survived by his children, Danny and Laurette Clash, (Altadena, Ca.), Henry Clash, Ronald Clash, Lola Lambert and Robert Bausal all from Rock Island, Joy Cherry from Atlanta, Georgia, his sister Sylvania Shaw, his significant other Dora Holland (35) years; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
