Albert P. Gosney, 88, of Sherrard, went to be with his Lord on Monday August 25, 2014, at Unity Point Health Trinity, Rock Island.

Visitation will be 5 pm - 8 pm on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial will be 12:30 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Rock Island National Cemetery with military honors performed by Moline American Legion Post #246. Those wishing to go to the cemetery please meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, to go in procession. Memorials may be made to the family.

Albert was born on February 7, 1926 in Shelbina, MO, the son of Louis and Gladys (Bailey) Gosney. He married Dorothy J. Starmer on April 19, 1947 in Shelbina, MO. Albert was employed by John Deere as a welder for 33 years before retiring in August 1983.

Albert will be remembered by his wife of 67 years Dorothy Gosney; his three sons Lindell (Linda) Gosney of Littleton, CO, Ronald Gosney of Centennial, CO, and Anthony (Shirley) Gosney of East Moline, IL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his three sister-in-laws Bev, Novi, and Evelyn Gosney. He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers Arthur, Ernest, and Eldon; his sister Eunice; and his daughter-in-law Carla Gosney.

He was very appreciative to the great care given to him by Tony and Shirley Gosney.
