Albert Jochim, 84, of Milan, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Visitation will be held 4 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Albert was born April 22, 1931, in Eagle Butte, SD, the son of Anton and Eva (Fix) Jochim. He married Catherine Baker on October 25, 1958 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Albert worked as an assembler for John Deere Plow Planter, Moline, for 30 years, retiring on April 1, 1993. He was a member of the Rock Island Moose Lodge #190 , Local UAW #434, and St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Albert enjoyed yard work, gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, and spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren.

Albert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine Jochim, Milan; children, Richard Jochim and Nida Dieckmann, Davenport, Michael (Carla) Jochim, Viola, Donna Jochim and Jeff Lambrecht, Silvis, Peggy (Ralph) Eckhardt, LeClaire, IA, Ronald Jochim and Lori Hurinenko, Auburn, WA, Mark (Kim) Jochim, Rock Island, and Tricia (Scott) Parker, Rock Island; 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Rita Klaphake, MN, Agnes Kircher, WI, Eugene (Sharon) Jochim, IL, Rose Wulfekuhle, MN, Charlotte (Jim) Becker, MN, and Roger (Terri) Jochim, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Ashlynne Jochim.
