Alexandria H.
Scott
February 19, 1993 – February 10, 2015
Alexandria H. Scott, 21, of Davenport, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be at Noon Monday at People's Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be private at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Alexandria was born on February 19, 1993 in Moline, Ill., a daughter of Alfred L. and Alline McClendon Scott.
Alexandria graduated from Davenport North High School. She went on to attend one year at Scott Community College and a semester at Kirkwood Community College before her illness prevented her from completing her schooling.
Alexandria worked for Boy Scouts of America and Arby's. She enjoyed playing instruments, which included the flute, clarinet, violin and piano, singing, song writing and studying medicine. She played in the Quad City Symphony, school orchestra and at the Festival of Trees. She was also a spokesperson and poster child for the Mississippi Regional Blood Drive and children suffering from sickle cell. Alexandria had aspirations of working in medical research or in some capacity within the medical field. She was especially interested in being a physician or physician assistant so that she could provide quality care to others.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Alfred L. and Alline Scott, Davenport; brothers and sisters, Alfreda R. Scott, Rock Island, Bryan (Afaf) Stewart, Colorado, Dell D. Stewart, Silvis, Starsunta A. Scott, Des Moines, Tyron S. Scott, Arizona, and Edmund Lee and Alfred I. Scott, both of Missouri; grandfather, Henry McClendon, Silvis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Helen Scott and Aretha Kimmons and grandfather, Albert Jackson.
