Mr. Meyer had worked for several farm implement dealers; McDonald Implement in Titonka, as a Service Manager for New Idea, and later years at Hardi Sprayer Company Davenport. After his retirement he worked several years as a handyman.

Al grew up on a farm north of Titonka, Iowa and he enjoyed stock car racing. He got the opportunity to work as part of a pit crew at the Algona Racetrack, an experience he never forgot. Al also loved antique tractors and owned his own 1949 IH that was restored by his nephew. He participated in many tractor rides along with local parades. He also enjoyed collecting model cars and tractors and listening to older country western and gospel music. Al was a very talented woodworker. He was a member of the DeerValley Collectors Club along with the Lion's Club in Parkview, Iowa.

In the past 10 years, he and his wife, Renee would travel to Florida during the winter months to enjoy the sun and warm weather.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn; parents, William and Alice (Wessels) Meyer; brother, Art Meyer; step daughter, Lisa (Simmon) Pizano.

Al was an easy going guy with a great sense of humor and a reputation of being the best hugger on the planet. He will be dearly missed!
