Alfred H. "Ted" Holloway, 90, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at his home after a battle with Melanoma. Services for Mr. Holloway will be 10:30 am, Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center. Milan.

Ted was born on September 16, 1933, in Galesburg, Illinois, a son of Wilbur Townsend Holloway and Mildred (Hughs) Holloway. He married Dian Miller (Thornburg) on March 3, 1972, in Davenport, Iowa. Mr. Holloway was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran. Ted had worked for more than 40 years as a bricklayer, retiring on September 30, 1994, from Schott & Welch Masonry. He was a member of Local No. 8 Bricklayers of Illinois.

Ted is survived by his wife, Dian; daughter, Laura (Marty) McManus; grandchildren, Daniel Pierson (fiancée, Lauren); Sydney (Jeff) Gauley, and Kyle McManus (significant other, Katie); five great grandchildren, Pepper Pierson, Jack Pierson, Kane Bush, Rhys Gauley, and Harlow Gauley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, "BJ".

The family would like to thank Dr. Constantinou and the staff at UnityPoint Oncology, Hematology and Radiology as well as UnityPoint Hospice for the care they provided Ted.
