IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice
Rhoden
February 7, 1923 – August 10, 2022
Alice (Hall) Rhoden, 99, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away in Poinciana, Florida on August 10, 2022. Alice was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on February 7, 1923, to Enoch and Alice Hall. She accepted Christ at a very early age by being baptized in the Mississippi River. She went on to marry Arthur Rhoden on April 1, 1944, in this union came their children, Quella (Hall) Harrington, Paul Rhoden, Phyllis (Rhoden) Konczal, Bertha (Rhoden) Cooper, Fannie (Rhoden) Thomas, Oscar (Joe) Rhoden, Mary-Lee Rhoden, Enoch Rhoden, Nathaniel Rhoden, Frank Rhoden, Linda Rhoden, Deborah (Rhoden) Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Mary-Lee. She worked closely with her father cooking for the workers that tended to their family's farmland and helping him take care of the crops and cattle. She worked at Dasso's Apple Orchard in Rock Island; she also loved to sew in her spare time. She enjoyed playing baseball at family reunions as well as playing card games, dominos, and knitting. Her first love is fishing; there were times she'd camp out on the river all night to fish. Even in the winter months she would go ice fishing. With her doing this she was able to feed the whole community. She's best quoted saying, "a stranger is a friend I've never met." She loved to be surrounded by her family and friends any time spent was the best times spent. She also loved her hugs and kisses and would bite also just for fun. She leaves behind to cherish her memories five generations of grand and great-grandchildren and family.
