Alison Marie Matthews was born February 1, 1977 in Rock Island to Joe D. Martin and Lillie M. Matthews.  She was the youngest of five children.  Allison had a healthy respect and love for God.  She attended the Rock Island school system and obtained several certificates of completion from Black Hawk College.  Alison worked as a general labor in food services and hospitality.  She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and spending time with family.

Alison departed this life on June 12, 2019.  Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday at the Word Church in East Moline.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.

She leaves to celebrate her life:  her mother, Lillie Matthews, children, Amere and Asia Matthews, and Jeffrey Miller; siblings, Carl Black, Amy Willis, Timothy "T.J." Matthews, Johnny Matthews, JoAnn Tott, Denise Watson, Rukesha Shell, Janis Martin, Joe D. Martin, Jr., Joe, Frank, Antonio and Rev. Lorenzo Martin, Kanisha Sanchez, Helen Killings, and Cynthia Wells; and other family.

Our family would like to express a feeling of overwhelming gratitude and appreciation on our sister's behalf.  A special thank you to those recognizing the blessing of knowing Alison:  as a loving daughter, sister and mother.  She will forever be missed.  God Bless you all.
