Allen R. Washam, 64, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Bettendorf, passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2024, at his home. Memorial services for Allen will be at 5 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 5 pm prior to the memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund that will be established later.

Allen was born on December 24, 1959, in Davenport, a son of Robert and Betty (Smith) Washam. Allen graduated from Bettendorf High School and was the Homecoming King in 1978. Mr. Washam worked for the General Motors Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, Kansas, from where he had recently retired. He was an avid sports watcher. He enjoyed football, mixed martial arts, racing, working out, Iowa Hawkeyes, Bettendorf Bulldogs, motorcycles, and attending events with his family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Ian Washam, Moline; siblings, Randy (Tess) Washam, Daleville, AL., Curtis Washam, Bettendorf; nieces and nephews, Mariah Washam, East Moline, Cody Washam, Bettendorf, and Robby (Summer) Washam, Fort Richie, FL; great nephew, Gable Washam; and an aunt, Cookie Bruffey-Paper, Durant, IA.
