Amber E. (Riecke) Hallgren, 89, of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.  Funeral services for Amber will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.   Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Trinity Anglican Church.

Amber was born on February 27, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Irene Ehlers Riecke.  She married Warren C. Hallgren on June 14, 1947 in Rock Island.  He passed away on February 20, 2005. Amber was a homemaker for her husband and 4 children.

She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Rock Island.  Amber loved spending time with her family, playing cards with her card club who have played monthly since 1946, gardening, dining out and she also enjoyed a really good martini.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Rick (Judy) Hallgren, Las Vegas; Holly (Bill) Hansen, Rock Island and Becky Rowe, Rock Island; grandchildren, Alison, Mackenzie, Georgia, Richie, Sarah and Emily; 7 great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Robert C. Hallgren and her brother, Roy Riecke
